The revolutionary war went from 1775–1783. It was a war fought between Britain and the 13 colonies. America wasn't even a nation yet and they took on the most powerful army in the world... and won.

The colonies wanted to revolt because briten was desiding what was best for them and started taxing them on stuff such as tea. Then Boston revolted and on the night of 1773 they dumped tea into the river Britain was furious and put in the Intolorable acts shutting down Boston's harbors.

Instead of scaring the colonies with the Intolerable Acts united them and they brought food to Boston. And soon started training minuite men and storing suplies at Lexington and Concord.

The British found out about the hidden wepons and marched on Lexington thank fully the colonies found out and had minute men standing waiting to defend the ammo both standing face to face force all the sudden someone fired this shot which was known as the shot heard around the world soon British and America raged war until 1783 when America came out victories and a free nation that took on the best army in the world... and won.
