In addition to tracking math,
reading, and science in grades 4, 8, and 11, the Atlantic Community School
District analyzes student achievement
data using the ITBS/ITED in reading (2-9,11), math (2-9,11),
and science (4-9,11). The district also uses grade equivalent data to determine the mean growth of students from year to year.
Washington Elementary School
(K-3) used their Early Intervention Monies to fund 2.5 reading teachers.
This allowed for reduced class size during daily 90-minute reading/literacy
block.
