Students
across Iowa voted
for their favorite Iowa Children's Choice Award book in February.
Schuler students selected Escaping the Giant Wave, by Peg
Kehret as their favorite book. Escaping the Giant Wave was
also the state winner.
You are invited to commemorate your child's birthday or any special day, by donating a book to our library in your child's name. Your donation will be recognized by a bookplate in the front of the book which will state your child's name and birthday. The Schuler newsletter and webpage will note your child's contribution to our library collection and your child will be the first to check out his or her "special book". The Media Center The
Schuler Media Center is an integral part of the total school program.
The media center staff collaborates with all teachers to coordinate
individual classroom needs with the media center resources.
The media center motivates students to learn using both hard copy texts and technology. There are over 6000 books available for check out and 45 computers available for students to use. Students may always have two books checked out, more if they are needed for an assignment. Parents are welcome to visit the media center. We would be happy to suggest just the right book for you to share with your son or daughter. Who's Reading What?
Every year we are fortunate to have students who truly love spending time in the Media Center. They check out a variety of books, are disappointed if the book they want to read next is not in, and enjoy telling others about the books they have read. are both happy to help you! Winnebago is up and running! Students and teachers are now able to look up titles, authors, and subjects on the computers in the media center. It's easy to find just the right book using this online card catalog. |
